- Always sign and date your pottery. You could be creating a family heirloom and it would mean more with a signature and date.

- Don't limit yourself to pastels for hand and footprint art. Use decorator colors and patterns to go with the decor in your living room, kitchen or bath.

- Write suprise messages, cute quotes or words of wisdom in the bottom of bowls for chili, soup or salads.

- Create a family tree on a platter for Christmas or Thanksgiving for a real family heirloom - and be sure to sign and date it.
